Below I hope to provide the answers to any questions you might have.
If you have more, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and ask!
Question: How does this process work?
Answer: The first step is an inquiry! Once you've expressed interest, I will schedule a consultation with you to go over everything and gather all details about your needs and vision, this can be held in person or via phone. During the initial consultation and if you decide to book, I will go ahead and schedule an in-person reveal with you for once the gallery is complete.
Having your portraits professionally done is an investment. It is an investment in tangible memories. I partner with an amazing professional lab, and I spend a lot of time in post-processing ensuring that the images you receive are of the best quality. My goal is to help my clients create heirloom pieces they will be able to cherish for the rest of their lives. The lab I use does beautiful work, are your memories worth the investment?
Question: What is aspect ratio and how does it affect printing?
Answer: Aspect ratio is the image width and height. It basically describes how square (1:1) or wide (16:9) or image is. Below is a handy chart to help you understand, as this will help you when deciding on printing sizes:
Question: How do I order? What is the turnaround time?
Answer: A reveal session will be scheduled during the booking consultation, typically 2 weeks after the session. Orders will be placed at the reveal session.
Question: When is the best time for a pregnancy session?
Answer: 6-7 months is usually my recommendation, during that time, you are showing, but you’re not in the final stretch.
Question: Are you available to travel for a session or event?
Answer: Absolutely! I’ve traveled as far as Jamaica before for an elopement! Primarily I shoot all over the Tallahassee area, and the surrounding 50 miles. There are so many beautiful places, Southwood, McClay, even Railroad Square Art Park! Reach out to discuss further! I am always happy to travel to the location you want.
Additional Items to Note:
Think about the look you want when choosing the outfits for the session. Clothing that is in soft colors, create warm and cozy portraits. Clothing that is bright and colorful create more energetic portraits. When questioning your outfit choices, always go for simple, complementary colors, no wild patterns or stripes, as they can look dated at a later time. I don’t recommend shirts with writing, logos, or characters, as they are distracting from the overall image. (Do you really want to look at your photo in 10 years, and see the Ninja Turtles?)
I am always up for using personalized items in photos, whether those be blankets, special clothing, toys, or quilts. In fact, I would prefer it! Knowing we’re using something special to the family makes me so happy!
Try to consider the environment when deciding on what to wear, are we shooting in your home? Or outside? Or using my mobile studio?
I don’t recommend multiple outfit changes for littles, unless they are newborns and sleep through clothing changes. Small kiddos get frustrated easily, I would rather keep them happy and photograph them quickly!
Tips for a newborn session: make sure baby is fed and changed, a diaper is fine prior to the shoot. If you have a special outfit you’d like to use, please let me know! I love to photograph the littles with their favorite or special toy or stuffed animal.
To end ... relax and have fun!! I will do my best to make this a happy and relaxing session for you!
